Wow, I just finished resetting my hsf and realized a huge mistake i made when assembling my rig. This is the first comp I've built , so i was a little blind going in.I have a enermax EG365P-VE and I installed it simply according to the mounting holes. Dummy me didn't realize that the intake fan was up against the roof of my case. Well, now it doesn't mount reversed, so should I cut a hole for the intake, or fabricate a mount to intake from the inside of the case???? Right now I have the case laid sideways so everything is running without actually mounting the psu.

Honestly, it should be able to work fine covered like that IMO.

It caught me by suprise. the fan is completely against the case. I can see a little dust swirl on the case. I just don't want to starve the psu of intake air(or the fan for that matter.)

mount one on the back of the psu, thats the best place, not the other side. The fans blow over the heatsinks in the power supply just make sure they do that you'll be fine.
