Well being Mr. Retro Technology I decided it was now time to upgrade to an ATX power supply & newer mobo, namely a 250 watt IPEX & Aopen AX59pro, now this is where the real fun begins...................... blink.gif

I know you need to attach a soft-power switch to the mobo (this was easy),
but though the fans, agp/card fan & LED's power up, I don't get no satisfaction no video output ie. bootscreen not on AGP, PCI or ISA, so what gives? <_<

Repeated attempts get 2 bootscreens but not one after another (like I would expect).

Tried the PSU on another dual powered mobo (which works sweet on an AT PSU wink.gif ) but still inconsistent boots.......

So any thoughts, any at all?

Am beginning to experience PSU-RAGE smack.gif smack.gif smack.gif

My life's full of trouble, isn't yours? laugh.gif

Start from scratch? new everything? <_< where's the fun in that? unsure.gif
Will slowly upgrade, the ATX-PSU is a step towards a compliant Case & PSU system.
Next I'll have to use an angle grinder on the old server case.wacko.gif wacko.gif
Plus $$$ for this hobby of mine, come in low on the family budget. huh.gif

One day maybe ............................................................

p.s. it was the PSU at fault the replacement should be in the mail already. wink.gif

thx anyway.

You know i have a friend exactly like you... He loves to work with older stuff, buying and selling and fixing and stuff... But you know what? He has a pretty nice little gaming rig sitting under his desk so that when alls said and done, he can load up battlefield and play.. So maybe you should do the same less than 500 bucks you can play every game out right now.

You know, you might have something there...... <_<

Have been checkin' out the A7N8X-X its only $140.00 AUD, then maybe an old 1700+ of eBay $120.00 +, then some DDR, been collecting H/S fan combos already (all takes time).

We shall see ................ <_<
