tadaaa :)

seems like the PSU fan was connected directly to the card, so i had to cut those two cords straight off and connected it via 4-pin ;)

i actually could fit the small cable to out the back of the psu where the rest of the electric cords go, and i cut the default grills ut and used the enermax ones instead =)

i actually thought to do the same thing, only i would have instead gone to a high cfm fan like the tt smart case fan II. i dont see the point if your not going to increase the cfm. then again, that enermax might push more air then i think. anyhoo, nice job. btw, on another note, you could have just cut the enermax's 4 pin off and soldered the wires directly to the spot on the psu. just a suggestion so you dont have that connector sticking out then back in.

*edit - nevermind, i read your last topic and now know why you went out and back in rather then soldering.

well, i mainly did it because i was tired of how low cfm and how noisy that old fan was...

with the enermax, the same cfm (im assuming, with the "hold hand and compare"-elite-technique ;) ) makes less noise now, and i can turn it on full blast for nice cooling too :)

i actually lowered my motherboard temps from ~30C to ~25C, when running below the previous noiselevel, so im pretty satisfied ;)

i just did that to my psu but i have a kingwin 450 watt 4 fan psu it came with a quad color led fan and i changed out the fan with a red tri led fan in that psu all the fans connect via 2 pin connectors so i just chopped the ends off the 2 fans and the shrink rapped the twisted wires cause i dont have any soldered right now lol

why does your ps have 4 fans?

i wouldnt recommend just twisting wires like that as you get a terible and 'unclean' connecton, and you would be likely to suffer more resistance from a limited connection, thus disproving the functionality of the fan. i dont know how well you tied them , but soldering is always the way to go. wrapping wires isnt ususally recomended.

next up in line... 4-knob fan controller on the front, totally homemade =)

i am an electrical apprentice lol and have worked in the electric feold since i was 19 almost 30 now plus i have been in car audio since i was 15 so yeah i know just twisting wires aint the greatest connection but as stated i didnt have any solder at the time i plan on redoing it now that i have some just not right now when i deciede to start moddin my case and things then i will do it right biggrin.gif

as to why it has 4 fans thats what kingwin put there 2 80mm 2 40 or 60mm not sure which i do know that it puts out cfm similar to my tornado with out the noise lol

Kingwin Divine Power (KWI-450WABK) PSUs have 4 fans with them. smile.gif

Great PSUs, Like Bishop, I also replaced mine.... though I used a 4 LED Red fan, vs his 3 LED red fan. tongue.gif
