If you mean a rheostat
try this it works fro me iv made 2
rheostat
and if you need to see the speed of your fan just leave the 3rd wire on the 3 pin connector
to the Mobo
most fan wire are:-
red = +12
Black = ground
yellow or blue = RPM

hope this helps

why dont you just buy the Thermaltake Volcano 9 Smart And Silent. It comes with a fan controller and a sensor you can put on the bottom of your processor so when it heats up the fan speeds up. You can get the fan at www.newegg.com for about $30

this little program will work the best. http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

Hey Monkey laugh.gif ,

(it sounds funny gotta admit)

Anyways you could buy a front of case 4 fan variable speed controller, or you could get the volcano 11, which is much lighter and efficient than the volcano 9 (which has a heavy copper insert). this HSF comes with a fan speed controller.

However, it seems as though you would like to build one or buy one seperately to use on your existing fan. that will be hard to find or build. <_<

well i got a little door next to my 3.5 inche bay (floppy). and behind it there was firewire and usb ports. I took them out and there is a spot that i wanna put a fan controller and the other i wanna put a bright led. And it will be hidden so i kinda see it as a gadget/mod. And the fan controllers from Thermaltake, Sunbeam, Etc... i dont see as a mod.
