Well my computer is randomly shutting down and my best bet is that its my +12volt line - its running at approx. 11.61 (according to BIOS) - is this enough of a deviation to make my computer do this - My only other guess was a bad install of windows

well you should check your +12 line with a volt meter because mins is usually about .5V off.

i dont think thats it what exactly is it doing is it saving everything and powering down or does it just shut off?

it just shuts down like there was a power outtage and then I have to unplug it for like 10 seconds before I can power it up again (I cant just press the front case button)

make sure you have a good ps check your hsf make sure everything is on their properly and make sure no grounds are touching the cases chassie

All I have is a ground on the IDE cable that touches the case - is that gonna be a problem

you shoudnt have anything ground to the case if you need to ground somethung tie it to another ground

OK - well - ive got my computer all taken apart and im gonna reinstall windows so ill update you all
