HD upside down. is this ok? im sure it is its just that i have never seen it done before. i couldnt hide my power cables and it even turns out that my rounded cables caused more clutter... so took those out. please advise if anyone has experienced any problems with this... although it seems to be running great.

the only problem i can think of is a possible heat problem and the PCB board getting too hot. Its probolly ok though

It kinda lookes like you have 2 HDs close together, and just to remind you that heat rises!

the temps are fine... i was just curious if this would cause the HD to malfuntion even though i highly doubt it just havent seen any pics b4 of it done so i wanted to make sure that i wasnt missing something... was just making sure. thanks for the input.
it really did help with my wire management though

its just sitting at the bottom of the system.....its been like that for about a year now and it works just fine

Actually the hard drive does not matter where it is placed. In many machines from Dell / Compaq / hp hard drives are placed in rather wierd places so your will be totally fine.. Plus Nice Clean system Man.. PROPS

Yes, in my sony it is placed sideways.
Makes it easier just to open the side, put in a hard drive and connect power and IDE to it.
But I am not saying Sony is good. Maybe for a n00b that doesn't build computers.

I think it does not really matter which way you set up the HDDs. In my Kingwin case HDDs stand on the side, this way i can fit more (up to 5)

Hmm, It might cause all the bits to flip..

I have had my drives on there edge for3 years now. There laying flat against the front of the case in a rack I built at work. It saves space, and if your case has room for a front case fan, you can blow it directly on the drive, or draw air around it and out the front.

my experience is that the two hard drives will run MUCH cooler if you put one space between them
i had mine like that, they WORKED fine, but sometimes were almost too hot to touch for long
spaced them apart and now they do not even hardle feel warm, very big difference
