hello, watercooling gurus. i have a quick question. i will likely be using a car heatercore for my new watercooling setup (77 bonneville or 8? chevette), but those don't look all that great.

Is it possible to spraypaint the heater core? it seems like it would actually insulate the heater core and i would lose cooling performance, but i've read about others who have done this and they were happy with it.

looks are nice, but i care more about cooling performance. any advice?

painting a heatercore will not affect its thermal performance.

Google then froogle on Radiator black.
I dont see a location in your profile, but Any US automotive store or Radiator shop if you are in a metro area can get you some info or have it in stock.

(Froole has it for 10.99 a can and don't use regular spray paint.....)
Friends once owned a radiator shop, cant remember what it was, but they used a mix that was not as fancy as the real stuff. *(And not glossy and plus the real stuff has a high gloss finish and will not chip or peel.)
