Hello everyone,
Here a have a quest that can't find the perfect solution for a half year now.
I have one machine at office and one at home, both Windows XP SP3, ADSL connection with static IP.
On the office machine a have an archive of about 250 GB of files.
When i am at home sometimes i need to connect to my office machine, search through those files, maybe preview some, and then download some needed files to my home machine, using a download queue feature is possible.
The task doesn't seem so complicated, yet, i did not find a perfect simple solution so far.
Solutions that i tried already, and don't need suggestion on:
Radmin
UltraVNC
TeamViewer
p300
DC++ and many variations of it.
Note: am not allowed, and don't want to install any kind or sort of server application on office machine.
So considering all these factors, does anyone have even an idea what solution would be fine for me?
Thank you.

Application to check website availability around the world
09 March 2011 - 03:47 AM
Hello everyone,
I am on Windows XP, and looking for an application that could be used to check my website availability from cities / countries around the world.
Many times it happens that for some reason my website is unavailable from some cities of India, or Russia, or for example isn't available via some internet providers in my own country.
So i thought there could be some sort of professional program like that, that could be flexible used to verify website availability from different cities / countries / internet services providers.
Any good suggestions around?
Big thank you in advance.

When uploading, using internet becomes impossible
08 October 2010 - 01:21 AM
Hello everyone,
I am on Windows XP SP2 and I have a regular ADSL connection with 10 Mbit download and 1 Mbit upload.
I have noticed a strange thing, whenever i am uploading something using full 1 Mbit speed, it becomes impossible to continue using internet and browse web pages, sites are loading very slow.
Seems like the bandwidth used for uploading somehow affects the download bandwidth, bit i don't get how is one connected to the other?
May be there is some wrong setting in my modem?
Has anyone encountered an issue like that? Is there a solution?
Thank you.

Chkdsk Being Cancelled All The Time
22 June 2008 - 11:29 PM
Hello,
I am on Windows XP SP2.
Windows has scheduled a chkdsk at system boot, but something is canceling it automatically.
Every time I restart Windows, it tries to run a chkdsk but never succeed because it is being automatically cancelled.
Windows says it better to run it and no matter how many times I try to schedule it, it is being cancelled.
Is there a way to find what’s canceling it and how to make sure it runs?
Where is the file that contains chkdsk command anyway?
Thanks.
