  1. Right, my rusty old noisy psu died before christmas so i replaced it will my mates and i ran the rig for 2 ish months then turned it off. Couple more months later i turn it back on as i have a new connection and use the rig for running a ts2 hl:cs server. However it makes a 'pong' and dies. This is what my other one did when it died. However you can hear the power when it plugged in. Could it be related, any ideas tips? It runs Dual pII's with 1gig of sdram and i'm unsure of the mobo.
  2. Yo just starting building a new machine for my m8. Ok everything is setup, memory (512 400 DDR), processor (AMD64 3000) etc. First i thought it was the power supply but now i think its the motherboard. Whenever i turn it on i get a boost of power for 1/2 then it turns of. So i changed the power supply and it makes no diffrence, checked cabling, all correct, i've herd it could b a problem with the dps? Any tips or known ploblems with this board ? Thanks in advance.
  3. Right ok, Once apon a time it was working fine, however the other night i was a bit lazy and couldn't b arsed to turn it off properly so i closed everything that was running and hit the power button. Done this many times before so i don't think its a factor. The next morning i go to boot it up, the psu switches on for about 6 secondsm i get a bleep like a ping pong ball then it dies. It doesn't give a screen display or even get as far as recognising the cd rom. Once, by repeatedly flicking the psu switch then hitting the power button i got it to run, it saw the cd rom, got a screen display, it got as far as almost finishing loading windows and the psu died. i'm thinking its the psu rather than 1 of the cpus, I would like to make sure of this though before i go out and buy one. Anymore ideas ? Cheers Hippykiller

  5. Some people might say pointless, others, crazy. I intent to over clock my AMD 64 3200 when it arives but first i need to learn how to over clock. The FSB on my motherbaoard stands at 100, if i oc it too 133 then my comp boots up and i get a temp of 50'c (on air cooling). However my GFX card does no appear to want to start up. Could anyone tell me why or how to give it a kick ? Cheers My rig --> http://www.overclockersclub.com/gallery/?act=case&id=657 Hippykiller
