I am a Newb when it comes to AMDs, realtively speaking.

ON computer game boxes, and other game and program requirements it will state the Intel requirements, sometimes it will mention "or AMD equivelent". AMD does have 2.4 MGHz and all that jazz and Intel goes into the upper 3s, however AMD is more efficent and wins Intel.

How do you know if your AMD meets are beats the requirements for a game? Is there a list to compare them, or do i have to constantly look up benchmark tests and see how it goes?

Thanks for you help.

The way AMDs are rated are equivilant to the Intel at that speed. ex.3500+ = 3.5ghz Intel.

in other words, don't go by the GHz rating on AMDs, go by it's name, although AMD says that's not what the naming entails, it seems to run that way for the most part.

A Intel 3 Ghz chip would, supposedly, be equivalent to a AMD 3000+

The amd rating system (PR) is based off the original t-bred a core

a 3200 performs the same as the original t-bred core clocked to 3.2ghz

with the addition of new instruction sets, on-die memory controllers, and x86-64 a 3200 would out perform a t-bred at 3.2ghz so they added the "+" into the rating system

it has nothing to do with intel
