Also, I am facing a small conundrum in the storage department.

I am hoping to pull the trigger on this purchase within 24 hours.

There are better choices.

The case could end up being a nightmare. I recommend the tried and true HAF 912 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233 it is on sale for a little bit extra and you are getting a solid case.

CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115229

mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157289

That PSU does not look very......trustworthy. This is a good deal since it is on sale. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817116019

The video card can either be a AMD 7950 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202006 or a GTX 670XPB if you need the cuda cores. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133452

If you want bad @$$ memory then here is what you really need http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231629 . If you want cheaper ram with a smarter purchase plan. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231569 I would gather that these would overclock to 1866 stable.

everything else looks good.

Cases are such a personal choice, and some of that probably depends on your budget.  For example, I'm not a big fan of the HAF 912 (for aesthetics) - even though it is a great case at a good price and very very functional.  While on the other hand I really love the appearance of the HEC case you've chosen and you certainly can't beat the price.

I guess if I were going to nitpick or question anything it would be;

1. Your decision to drop big money on previous generation GPU technology (i.e. GTX 580) instead of nVidia 6XX series or AMD 7XXX series

2. Do you really need 32Gb of memory at that price?

3. Xion power supplies aren't my first choice, but to each their own

just going with the stock cooler too?

here's a part list with the AMD 8350 you picked with a couple changes:

I don't have any first hand experience with the WD green drives, but I don't think I would use one as my #1 HDD.  Definitely as a backup and storage drive but not for running programs.

SSD as an OS drive but still using the HDD for many other programs, not just documents and pics.

The bottom line;

If I want to install crysis 4 I do not want to have to uninstall Crysis 1,2, & 3 to make room.

That won't fit on a SSD and I wouldn't want to run games off of a low power eco-drive.

I think that's a lot of money to sink for stuff that's not needed.

Case - Personal choice

Motherboard & CPU - Personal choice, but I would personally go with a used Z68 board with a 2500K for ~$200 - $250

Graphics card - Knowing that my highest overclocking GTX 580 1.5GB I still have barely wins over an overclocked HD 7850 2GB (which can be found for ~$150), it's a no brainer what I would pick.

Memory - Stick with 2x4GB if you can find them used for ~$35. Aside from this news, whether it's true or not, now is not the best time to buy memory. I bought three kits of 2x8GB memory for $39.99 each on 11/19/2012, and they've been going up since. Just one of those kits is $109.99 now...

PSU - Corsair, Seasonic, the latest Rosewill Gold or Platinums, NZXT Hale90's, Sparkle Gold's, etc., they are all great choices I used in my builds with no issues whatsoever.

SSD - Stick with Crucial M4 256GB for $140 when you find one on sale.

HDD - Also a lot of price-fixing. Bought a 3TB for $90 once, and 1TB's for $45.

Your build costs $1552 without a CPU cooler. You could probably build something just as fast, if not faster, at half that cost, or something nearly twice as fast at that price.

+2

They're great drives but just not suited for the purpose.
