Not sure if this is the same thing, but the WCG I know of is the World Computing Grid, a distributed computing environment (like F@H) developed by IBM that is used for scientific projects that require large amounts of computing time.

Dave, What are the benefits of WCG over F@H. I have not take the time to read up on it but in your words what is the upside to the research?

I dont know that there are any benefits or arent. Its just different projects you can pick the ones you want to run.. Its all medical research or trying to find cures. I was just browsing around and looked at the OCC WCG Team I created long ago somebody is running its been getting points each day so I put one rig on it.
I run the help figt childhood cancer, help conquer cancer, and the aids one but there is even protein foling on there. It runs with BOINC. Its all good in my opionion I just change up some times change things around get bored I guess...

I think I ran it for a while on my mac pro but havent booted up my mac in a while lol, If I recall it's fairly easy to set up and you can set it to go idle while you are using the computer so there is less impact while your actually using it, I dont recall it using gpu's though just cpu's, not sure if thats changed.
