Hey guys, so i have a crucial m4 its been wonky
Sometimes its detected by my mobo so i can login to windows but other times, it wont get detected and it tells me to insert a proper boot media thingy
On top of that, when im in windows, i can "eject" it from my mobo
I have tried to update the firmware( 10G to 40H) but i cant because im using the z77a gd65 by MSI which has the UEFI bios and i dont think crucial has an UEFI bios updater up yet.
Any solutions? I'd really appreciate it thanks!

Sorry but this makes no sense, are you using it for the os drive or just storage ?

ok, good to know, first off you can't update the firmware if it is being used as an os drive, it has to be an external or storage drive as the update will format the drive at least that's how most ssd's work, second make sure your bios is set to AHCI for your sata drives , as far as it telling you it can be ejected if you try it will say you can't because the os is on it so don't worry about that. Update your firmware first on another pc or another hd with the os on it and go from there.

thing is, i have tried that solution,i tried it with a spare 990fx board i had with the regular bios
its still 10g even after the "update"

Sometimes you have to change the sata bios option to ide from ahci until the firmware updates then change it back to ahci after the update.

i believe the board i used to test it had only AHCI mode on it , pretty sure of that

you might have to use a bootable usb flash drive with the firmware update on it to get it to flash, I read some forums and a few people are having problems with the same firmware update you are trying to get.

oh thanks that worked! but its really odd, because i didnt go like how it expected, at first it looked like it didnt upgrade but when i checked, it was upgraded...
