i had that issue , i think i fixed it either by reinstalling the game or loading a previous save and lowering the settings for a bit

I've reinstalled the game and that didn't work! I'll try the latter.

I went back to a previous saved game and dropped settings but no luck.
Installed the latest GPU drivers although I was up to date anyway apart from some Tomb Raider tweaks and still the same.
I'd really like to complete this game. Any ideas?
