It just looks bullet proof and is well constructed. I got to see a few of them while at CES and it was not a bad fit for my hands.
Oh it's definitely nicely built and solid...I hated the feel too but I don't do the claw grip either.

I am not a palmer and was actually very interested in the mouse based on looks alone. I just may have to get it now.
