Hey there Euro, I would definately try to squeeze a ssd into that system, that along with the new video card would be a night and day difference. :D

I have been looking at SSDs recently, admittedly more out of interest than thinking of buying one, PSU will take priority on the upgrade path though, but perhaps spring next year an SSD could be a possibility (I've heard it's better to get a higher capacity SSD because after the OS install you don't get much space left, so I'll probably go 128GB), cheers for the recommendation Posted Image

I meant how good a deal :P

Oh right lol, sorry :P
The card itself was £85, down from the usual price of about £120 in the UK for the Sapphire GHz edition Posted Image

Wow, yeah that definitely sounds like a better deal. So expensive normally and even the "discount" price is higher than I'd pay for one

Got the card, unfortunately PSU still causing issues. No manufacturer contact details and the eBay seller is inactive :(

After reading through the reviews on the PSU, I solved the issues with my black screens too. The issue is that the power supply does not provide constant power to the system, and, the GA-970A-DS3 I am using supports surge protection, hence it shuts off the power momentarily when the PSU is providing bad power causing a black screen...so maybe, just maybe, the graphics cards are alright Posted Image

Confirmed; after getting my new power supply, all previous issues have been eliminated, so the failure of much of my rig was down to a dodgy PSU. Thank you everyone who has helped me at any point :)
