I know its a test bench but put a perspex dome over the top (with some venting and a small hidden fan) and you have one hell of a alien spider walker themed Media/HTPC
Laptop: Dell XPS 15 | GT540m | i7 2620QM | 6GB Ram | 750GB 7200rpm HDD|
Desktop: i3 | AsRock Z77 Pro3 | CM Storm Enforcer | Silverstone Strider Plus 750watt | Random HDD's from scavanged PC's set as dump storage |
To get: 8gb Mushkin Blackline/Redline Ram | GT560Ti | i5 2500k or equivalent ivory bridge | XSPC Rasa 750 WC Kit

It's certainly an interesting design, but it'd take a lot of work to get it to intergrate into an HTPC setup.

Although, mounting it on a wall and hiding ALL of the wires would be pretty awesome.

Now you're left with just a video cable to hide. (perhaps do HDMI and go with an ultra-slim cable connected to a swiveling adapter?)
