If you can still play all the games you want with it, there's no need for an upgrade. By the time you can't, more powerful cards will be out, or the current existing line of cards will be cheaper.

Well ... 2 x 5850 actually
You'd get buy with nearly every game on just a 5870 and you essentially have two!

A 5970 is two downclocked 5870s. 5850s have fewer shaders.Well ... 2 x 5850 actually

and I've never heard of a 5970 that couldn't *atleast* reach 5870 level clocks
