I played this a couple days ago, it had almost been ~2 months since I've played it.
Pretty pathetic when I was so excited for it and have spent... I think ~$70 on it now to not be playing it as much as possible.
A lot has changed since too, still a fun game though.

I plan on playing this again now that it's in open beta. Curious to see what changes have been made since the last time I played, but knowing the character wipe was coming, I held off playing in recent weeks.

Yep, but the good news is, we'll never be wiped again!
See the last line:
As part of the process of entering Open Beta, we have wiped all characters and reverted them to level 1 so that their names are retained. All items have been destroyed apart from the Unique prize item "Demigod's Presence" and Kiwi pets. There will never be another character or item wipe.

Like it was said, I need to get back into this again. I played only a little over the last couple months, but all the wipes just meant I couldn't get into it long-term. Now though, that's changed.
