Just how long is this beta testing period going for?

Its been pretty stable for me on only two occasions have I had an issue and that was a mesh not loading and me falling through the map.

Like I said in the news post, an open beta F2P game isn't really that different from a launched F2P game. It'll officially launch later this year, but the open beta will help weed out any bugs and make sure the game is as balanced as possible.

We're giving away the medium Spinfusor weapon for the Soldier class of Tribes: Ascend!

Unlocked the Technician class. Build turrets at flag points, repair/upgrade defenses, and get points for sitting at base Fight against a lot of Infiltrators, since I go down to repair generators. I love just jumping around while repairing, then watch an enemy Infiltrator pop out of stealth and try to knife him haha

Next to unlock is Sentinel, more camping at base for me.

New system for upgrading weapons (unlock upgrades as you use the weapon and/or use your XP)
27 new weapons variants (3 for each class)

This new upgrade weapons system is super fast. Now I can actually afford to buy new classes and new guns haha.

I always did think 1,000,000xp for a single weapon unlock was stupid. So have they done away with that now?

No, you still need xp to buy weapons, but no longer for leveling them up.

Once you get to a higher level the xp comes very quickly, but those high end weapons are designed to get people to buy gold

Doombringer wins matches, as long as there aren't multiple flag cappers or someone spamming mortars on your flag.
