Nice. Performance pretty on par with the Noctua NH-D14 for half the price (~+3C). How were the sound levels?

That looks quite tempting as you say cap. Dont like the mounting situation though, i am horrible at getting them even. Whats this CNPS9900 in your comparisons? I have never heard of it but it looks good from the graphs.

Capitan, the supplied fan is rated up to 35dBA and is certainly audible. The fans used on the Noctua were nearly silent, so versus the D14 you'll have a lot more noise with a little bit higher temperatures.
Speed, yeah the mounting is a headache. It took me probably 4 or 5 tries to get the temperatures down (because it was idling at like 45c stock!) The Corsair A50 and A70 also have this style of mounting and as soon as I was done with the review, they were banished to the depths of my closet!

.... That does not make sense to me. Why make an awesome cooler and ruin it with a lousy retention system.

I do have to say the Titan Fenrir I put on my brothers i7 920 really surprised me so the performance of this cooler is not really a surprise
