when I had my own site i used godaddy but havent used them in a long time now days I use inmotion hosting and so far they are very nice to deal with. definatley stay clear of name secure they are a joke and not worth the powder it would take to blow them to hell
I am also using Inmotion Hosting from several years and still have no problem.Their service is reliable

They have plans for using either Windows Servers of Linus Servers. Linux is much cheaper
If you do not have a store front then Linux is the way to go.
They will also handle Domain Name renewals if you want.
