Now that the buyout is complete between HP and Palm, the decision came down to begin letting people go.

That sucks for anyone who is currently employed by palm. XD

Considering Palm's days were numbered without a buyout, I'd say it was a positive move for Palm regarding existence as a company. No doubt administrative and rear echelon folks are going to be let go as HP integrates Palm's services with theirs. I'd rather see some of the employees laid off and the Palm brand live on that see the entire company disappear.

Yeah I was working along side EDS when HP bought them a few years back.....the first cut was like 3000 people when HP took over.
