bp9801 Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Nice Reviews you guys! I really like that ASUS Board.. Gives me evil thoughts! Haha! Agreed, the ASUS one is really nice. I'm also liking the alternating memory slots on it, good to see something different from the norm on the AMD side. Now, to see what the rest of the 800 series will have to offer. Praz Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 The Asus is a nice board. For the last couple of weeks I've been running a a locked 550 C3 as a quad core at 4050MHz with 8GB of memory at 1800MHz, CAS8.

Guest ajmatson Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I must say the ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 has been one of the best boards I have had the pleasure to test. It is very stable and offers a lot of the features I look for in a motherboard. The the two biggest pluses for me was the alternating memory slots and the Core Unlocker feature which is still running my X2 555 with all four cores stable for about a week now. Praz Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 So the unlock feature worked for you as well. Thats nice to hear! There were some bumps in the road early on but now the feature is really solid. I've asked for some improvements to C1E and some additional info displayed in the BIOS. Other then this my suggested to-do list is pretty much done. bp9801 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Ok, you guys are making me want the 890GX boards instead of waiting for the rest of the 800 series. Its crazy how stable the 550 is on the ASUS board..
MrAlex Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 All ASUS/MSI/Gigabyte motherboards will have an unlocking feature on all of their 800-Series motherboards. I'm all for it
