I've heard the word "Fermi" so much and seen so few actual numbers that mean anything that it's keeping me from being even the slightest bit excited about the card.
I knew you wouldnt be happy, lol!!!!
But there is another post with some better benchmark comparisons that seems absolutely astonishing. I can tell you this is a beast.

Look at transistor count, that over 3 billion. At 40nm that should be around and likely no less than 500mm2, power consumption is directly related... think 5970 for a single Fermi GPU. It better be a beast performance-wiseBut there is another post with some better benchmark comparisons that seems absolutely astonishing. I can tell you this is a beast.
It does look good so far, but we've seen enough paper, lets see some hardware now NVIDIA

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

I can tell you this: Nobody knows anything concrete performance-wise (other than "good") and the numbers being thrown around mean absolutely dick. I'll take the same attitude I did with all of the 5-series hype and wait for actual performance numbers. Till then it's all just idle speculation without much merit.
