I think the concept of the optical drive was decent, but somewhere between the idea phase and the design phase, it all went to crap .
looks like in an attempt to make a clever optical drive bay they sacrificed just about everything else. I find the way the drive opens interesting but at the same time it wouldn't work for me as I have a fan controller. Plus it's just ugly. Why couldn't they do away with all the extra support looking thngs.
