The fan probably adds $30-50 tops.If only they sold these without the fan/heatsink. I imagine that's why the price is so high?

Yeah probably.I don't think it's the fan, I think it's the name myself. They aren't the only company making high performance RAM, but they do seem to have the best. When you are buying corsair dominator RAM it seems like you are paying for the peace of mind that you bought the best. That is why they have the lower grades for sale as well.
