The AMD 3GHz Club

Okay. I have a question for the floor.

So far I've run AM3 and Prime95 on these settings (there's two different sets), and AM3 will pass easily but Prime95 fails almost immediately. What should I adjust first?

BIOS Settings:

FSB Bus Frequency............................. - 334

LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio....................... - 3x

CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio....................... - 9x

PCI eXpress Frequency......................... - 101Mhz

CPU VID StartUp Value......................... - Auto

CPU VID Control............................... - 1.525V

CPU VID Special Control....................... - + 104.8%

LDT Voltage Control........................... - 1.30v

Chip Set Voltage Control...................... - 1.59v

DRAM Voltage Control.......................... - 2.87V

DRAM Configuration Settings:

DRAM Frequency Set............................ - 100=RAM/FSB:01/02 ---- 120

Command Per Clock (CPC)....................... - Enable --- Enabled

CAS Latency Control (Tcl)..................... - 2.5 --- 2.5

RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd)..................... - 3 --- 4

Min RAS# active time (Tras)................... - 8 --- 10

Row precharge time (Trp)...................... - 3 --- 4

Row Cycle time (Trc).......................... - 11 Bus Clocks --- 12

Row refresh cyc time (Trfc)................... - Auto --- 16

Row to Row delay (Trrd)....................... - 03 Bus Clocks --- 3

Write recovery time (Twr)..................... - 03 Bus Clocks --- 3

Write to Read delay (Twtr).................... - 02 Bus Clocks --- 2

Read to Write delay (Trwt).................... - 03 Bus Clocks --- 3

Refresh Period (Tref)......................... - 4708 Cycles --- 4708

DRAM Bank Interleave.......................... - Enabled

DQS Skew Control.............................. - Increase Skew

DQS Skew Value................................ - 50

DRAM Drive Strength........................... - Level 7

DRAM Data Drive Strength...................... -30% Reduced

Max Async Latency............................. - 8ns

DRAM Response Time............................ - normal

Read Preamble Time............................ - 5ns

IdleCycle Limit............................... - 16 Cycles

Dynamic Counter............................... - Disable

R/W Queue Bypass.............................. - 16 x

Bypass Max.................................... - 07 x

32 Byte Granularity........................... - Disable(4 Bursts)

The last few settings are the same on both sets.

One set (the left) is PC3200 Patriot that runs 2-3-2-5-1T stock, the other is my OCZ TCCD PC4800 2.5-4-4-10.

Neither one of them wants to be prime stable and I'm trying to figure out if I need to give the CPU more voltage, or if it is indeed a ram setting. I've tried the HTT at both 2.5 and 3 to see if it maybe running over 1GHz is what the problem was, no dice.

Just look for suggestions from the floor to see if you guys have advice on what might fix it.

at that speeds the TCCD ram should be set at 3-4-4-8...

If you can find my additions to the overclocking club with my SLI-DR you can find some good ram settings.... I got 380mhz stable fsb 1:1 with teh ram and TCCD.... although I think my data base entry is at 360mhz if memory serves well...

EDIT: heh' Google works better than the forums own search...LOL
