N.E.A Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 (edited) but it is a waste is not it ..? getting two 5850 is better right..? 5850 is limiting 5870 with it's clocks ... it is a good combination but it is the ideal one ... but the review was awesome , i like OCC's video card reviews..:thumbs-up: Edited November 25, 2009 by N.E.A

ccokeman Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 In that same vein I have done some testing with the 5970 and 5870 in Crossfire with Fruitful results!
tkrow21 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 It got a gold? The scaling was 50%, generally.
ccokeman Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 You cant expect 100% scaling! That's a given!

Shader processes however are different...  And mixing crossfire was around 3-series like said earlier with 3850/3870/x2 variants being mixable. tcath2o Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I just recently paired a 4890 1 gig/ w a 4850 512, got a bit higher score in 3DmarkIII, but the 4890 alone was almost as good, plus the memory was only rated 512 megs total in crossfireX
tcath2o Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 gonna try for another 4890 1 gig tomorrow( Black Friday Special) I hope
bilcliff Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 i always thought that X-fire needed 2 cards of the same model (two 4890s, or two 5850s etc.) This review shows that it doesn't matter which ATI 5series you have, as long as you can get your hands on two and X-fire them they kick butt.
