Yeah, those junkers are all seem to be built on same basic Athlon XP/P3 era designs with high minor rails. Just getting shittier and shittier overtime with more cost reducing done. It sometimes gets funny on OCN - there're a number of people with crappy PSU's in there. And ironically, they all repeat the same phrases in their posts. It starts like "Now I know there are a lot of threads like this... but is my PSU good or no??". Now they all know their PSU is garbage and that they're in sore need of a new one... but well, voltage, wattage... you know. What does it matter anyway? All the same crap. Why not get the most out of that Apevia...

DC Output Power Specifications:

+3.3V, 45A

+5V, 50A

+12V, 22A

-12V, 0.8A

+5Vsb, 2A

 Look at that 12v rail. That design is from the P3 era.

Missed this part while posting the first post here.

So, this means it is 264Watt PSU, not a 620 Watt one. :whistling:

Or am I mistaken?

If yes then enlighten me about the rules behind calculation of power please.

Nope, that's essentially what it is for a modern machine. They pull the HUGE majority of their power from the 12v rail.

^ Thanks for the clarification.

So, now my question is, how they got 80 Plus Bronze certification?

sorry. I was mistaken by the two opened tabs of the browser.

Perhaps they're lying. :P

EDIT: Note that I'm not talking about the review PSU, just the crappy one linked to a few posts ago.

Many high end power supplies these days are specified to supply close to or equal to 100% of their total DC wattage on the +12V rail alone. It's not something that would ever happen (yet) but one of the many signs of a better quality power supply.
