Andrewr05 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 You can using anything to mine bitcoin assuming there's a client for it. The question is, is it worth the cost of power to run it 24/7 and does it break even making you bitcoins. That's what you should find out. IVIYTH0S Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 What is asic? basically: A higher ASIC value means less voltage is necessary for the same clocks at stock (or so I've noticed)
WarWeeny Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 asic or whatever is better apparently This has something to do with his question...in what way? @op, I wouldn't recommend using an APU to mine coins, it wouldn't really be beneficial with such slow speeds. Jklein Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 So what would be a decent card for mining?
Waco Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 What is asic?basically: A higher ASIC value means less voltage is necessary for the same clocks at stock (or so I've noticed) No no no - ASIC as in "application specific integrated circuit". Basically chips built entirely for mining at the best return per watt used.
WarWeeny Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 So what would be a decent card for mining? I heard the AMD cards are really good for mining. The AMD 7970 or r9 280X cards are really good examples.
