I am looking to buy a S775 ATX motherboard for less than $100.00 . What I am looking for is something that can overclock very well; and that's pretty much all I am looking for in this motherboard. Options and accessories are unimportant, so any suggestions?

I was looking at these two:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813138075
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...Tpk=GA-P35-DS3L

They look like good choices but any others that come to mind would be great (and/or cheaper ones wink.gif)

No to that Biostar, there horrible motherboards..

The gigabyte isn't so bad , it's a p35 chipset which are the best overclocking chipsets.

I have experience with a Biostar mobo and I know they are horrible mobos but I thought maybe they were getting better.... sad.gif I did read a review on it and they never had anything BAD to say about it and it overclocked very well.

Had one Biostar and will never own another one. As soon as I got some coin I bought a Gigabyte board.

So, there are no other suggestions about what mobo to get with a $100.00 budget?

I was gonna suggest the DFI P35 T2RL Blood Iron, but newegg doesn't seem to carry it anymore? unsure.gif It's probably the best overclocking board for 100$ smile.gif

Nice, I never heard of that one. Just so you know I'm not shopping at newegg. tongue.gif I was also looking at the 650i's. For SLI and amazing overclocking I think I am able to pay a little more. The Asus P5N-E SLI looks to be the best overclocker but has only 5.1 HD Audio. I was also looking at the Gigabyte N650SLI-DS4L but I can't find any reviews on it and the non "L" version is hard to find where I'm buying. Does anyone know how it overclocks?

I wouldn't go with an nVidia chipset if you don't want/need SLI... other chipsets are a lot easier to overclock...

I assume you don't want SLI because you have a limited budget?

Intel chipsets are not only easier to overclock, they generally get better performance clock for clock than nVidia chipsets... so unless you REALLY need SLI, don't get an nVidia board

I am on a budget but I still am getting a 8800GT/GTS so SLI would be a great option but it's not a NEED. I don't want the BEST in a PC but I want something that will be great when overclocked within a lower budget.

Wouldn't a Nvidia chipset do better running with a Nvidia GPU than say an Intel chipset?

Easier to overclock?

Better performance clock for clock?

-What do u mean by these statements?-

I didn't mean that the Nvidia chipsets are "better clock for clock" or "easier to overclock". I was asking harnrg what he meant by his ststements.

What I did ask was that wouldn't pairing an nvidia chipset with a nvidia gpu merit better performance than pairing an intel chipset with a nvidia gpu?

I was wondering what the difference between these two mobos were:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128073
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...82E16813128044R

I know one in open box but don't look at that newegg didn't have the retail one. I read reviews on the non-L version and it can overclock like none other but I can't find any reviews on the "L" version.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
