  1. Suggestions: A.) Start your own thread about this! new to the forums, you will find that you keep your replys to just concern the topic at hand. If you have something else you would like to say or ask, start your own thread. B.) Find someone who knows there stuff and get them to help you. C.) Take it slow, don't try to rush into it. Overclocking is dangerous and can harm your hardware. D.) ALWAYS, make sure you have sufficient cooling before you start to oc. E.) Read up alot on your mainboard, and cpu. Find out what others have done and how they did it. Though, if you try something that doesnt quite work out the way they experienced, its all because of the golden rule of computer hardware. "It may look the same, have the same name, and come from the same people, but it doesnt mean its gonna act the same."
  2. ya im to used to saying "fps" as in frames, just a mistake ^^ . Poke fun at me if you must lol Ok, i increased my ---|| FSB ||--- by 1, now i have a little more juice, out of it and the fsb is up just a tad. instead of the normal 266.27 now, wcpuid says 267.27. After i saw this i got exited, i tried to go up one more time. Nothing.....it stayed at 267.27. Also there was a change in the speed of the proccessor, instead of 1.664, its at 1.670. Still, i try to go just 1 mhz more on the FSB and nothing changes....what does this mean? that my maximum fsb with this stinking ram is only 267.27? or should i drop the mp to default and see if that works? I tried to drop to default before and tried to get 200, and 166, and that didnt work. Im so confused lol
  3. aight ill try that in the morning, right now i changed my dram frequency or whatever, dunno what it is, but it was 266 like my fbs, and now i got it up to 332 i believe, but still no change in my fbs im tired of messing with the fbs right now, ive tweaked with it for about 6 hours now and had to clear my cmos so many times its unreal lol. But ill try upping it by 1 tommorrow, .....i dont even know what type of ram i have it was some ram i got from a friend. ill check, and post all the updated info tomorrow, thanks for the help
  4. Ok so i posted earlier today about my cpu and i wanted to further with the over clocking. I was told that my default fbs with my ram was 266. I asked if i could push that any further, and did not get a response. So i went into my bios. i turn my mp back down to default. Then i turned my FBS to 200, rebooted the system. Everything posted just fine. Exept when i get into windows i run wcpuid and im still showing a 266fbs.....i tried to go to 166 in my bios and still, nothing changes. My comp boots and posts just fine. I also ran sandra to make sure this was correct and a number of other programs. So im pretty sure its not changing the fbs. My system is on my sig.
  5. Well, the temp thing is fine, i run idle 28c on my cpu, and 35c max load. The thing with the ram is what i expected. Im just going to upgrade to the best ram possible for this board. I'm also going to upgrade to an amd2500+ , but its always fun to push what you have to its limits just before you upgrade *wink*wink* Thanks for your info guys. Is there anyway to push past the 266? it would be nice
  6. Ok guys heres my problem. I have an amd 1600+, i overclocked it to as far as i know how to get it, which is up to 1.65 ghz. Which is basically the amd 2000+. Now then i look at my friend fanatic over here and hes on an amd 1700+ and he has his up past 2.2 ghz, hes running faster ram than me which may be the differense but im not sure help me out please. Oh, the reason i posted this was because of my low fpb....its 133.13 when overclocked to 1.65, please help me. heres my setup : MSI - K7N2 Delta Mainboard AMD 1600+ @ 1.65 || mp 12.5 - 1.8v || 512 mb PC2100
  7. Well, i know its sorda bad to be off subject on the forums, but im gonna say this just to maybe help you get the rig off your hands. I purchased the Aquarius II myself, and i love it runs great, i get great temps. At the lan party with an ambient im gonna say about 70f? not real sure but, i had a Case temp of around 72-80f depending on where i sat. Also my cpu temp wa sabout 26-32, depending on where i sat. But, at home i get a solid 28f cpu temp and a case temp of 70-75f. So if your looking for a great, easy to install water cooling rig this would be the way to go.
