  1. No readout or beeps from the motherboard. It does have a South Bridge power light that goes green when plugged in, but that it is. Tomorrow I'll do a rebuild of the system and see if that works. If not, back the motherboard will go. Thanks for the reply.
  2. I'm helping a friend with a new PC build and having one issue. Parts are as follows: Mobo: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 CPU: AMD FX-4100 RAM: 2x Corsair XMS 4GB DDR3 1333 HD: WD Blue 1TB GPU: Sapphire 100358L Radeon HD 7770 (1GB) PSU: Cooler Master GX Series 650W The computer powers up fine, but will not output anything to the monitor, so there is no post. All fans spin up. Strangely, it does not seem to be the GFX card causing no output to the monitor. Have tried multiple working monitors and used my own GFX card (which certainly works) to no avail. Have tried both PCIe slots for cards, but no change. His GPU fan (as well as mine when using it) seems to be surging, as in the fan seems to turn on to full power and then turn off every 2 seconds or so. I am at a loss at to what to try next to solver this, and any input is appreciated. Note: I do not have another AM3+ processor or mobo on hand to test the two. Thanks much in advance, BKen
  3. Books make mistakes a lot, hence having so many new editions. Yes, you are right and the book is wrong!

  5. Yeah, Titan Quest was and is really good, me and my friends still LAN it all the time!
  6. I'm using these now http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826265065 I got them for $35 on sale at newegg (sadly they aren't for sale now) Sound quality is great for gaming, average for music. You can get them for $42 at BestBuy (Link) From what I've been told, mic quality is great. Be warned: my first set went bad, loosing sound in the left headphone, but I liked them so much I bought another pair.
  7. I'm in for playing in a squad
  8. Some Taylormade Burner Plus irons. I don't know if anyone else here golfs, though =P

    I7 Build Help

yeah thats what I was thinking about doing when he was ready to buy. We have a Microcenter about 30 mins from here, so that's good.
  11. I'm helping my brother build a new computer and I was looking for some help with the parts. The budget is $900-$1100. The computer will be primarily used for video/audio production, and moderately for gaming. Requirements are a 1TB hard drive, and if it's possible to fit an i7 in the build, it'd be great. Don't need a monitor, mouse, or keyboard. Wireless is also needed. If it's possible to fit a decent sound card in for the price, go for it. Not necessary though. This is what I was thinking: CD/DVD Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204 WD 1TB Blue: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136534 XFX 5770: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150462 PSU Corsair 650W: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005 i7 920: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115202 Combo deal mobo/RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.406124 Gigabyte x58-UD3R and G.Skill 6gb tri-channel DDR3 And then some case around $100 Thanks for your help!
  12. 1. Warcraft III 2. Dawn of War II 3. Rome: Total War 4. Supreme Commander 5. Command & Conquer: 3 Tiberium Wars Just now getting back into RTSs and loving Dawn of War II. I started out on Warcraft III, and never played Starcraft, which probably puts me in the minority lol.
  13. Actually, according to their site the indicator has been triggered. As d3bruts1d already pointed out:
