True and they do however they counter by being part of large groups within the game. Now more power to them if that is what they choose but I did not want that because large groups ususally mean dealing with a-holes. We wanted our small group to enjoy and explore the game. Now we were not opposed to PVP but when you have a toon that is 4 years old fighint a bunch of toons that are 2 weeks old for no other reason than to be a jerk, that is just not cool.

The system they have in place in EVE can work and in my opinion does a lot of the time but at the same time it has flaws. Empire space is supposed to be safe space for new players. IF you decided to not create a corp with your buddies it is but you are severly limited. Everything outside of empire space is open to pure PVPO and I think that is cool but when you leave a simple loop hole to allow griefing of new players and they have no recourse other than being forced to not enjoy the game, there is an issue.

However EVE is not the only place this kind of crap happens. I know a lot of FPS players complain becuase some of the large scoring systems allow experienced players to headhunt in novice servers. This gives them easy kills and pads thier stats, letting them think of themselves as uber. The sad part is the game systems encourge this by the way the scores systems exist. I have also seen this in RTS and pretty much every other form of online play.I mean this seriously is like a major league pitcher that is only so so, going down to little league and bragging about how uber he is because he has such great stats now.

This kind of crap is what hurts online game play so much. People want to play their game, they want to enjoy it. They do not however want some jerk that goes out of their way to ruin everyone elses fun. It gets even worse when the game system that is designed to protect players is so screwed up it hurts them.

Ed. I get what you are saying but what i said was about dragonsdontfly's situation in an FPS game, EVE online is a completely different situation and my comments don't apply. Your rant on EVE was completely was irrelevant to the conversation. You can't use RTS(or whatever its called) MMORPG examples to argue about fps games.

I'd have to agree. He seems pretty wound up most of the time. And, if I remember correctly he's the same cat that can't stay out of bar fights because everyone is always hitting on his girlfriend.

Haircut may indicate active or recently discharged soldier :)

+1. And he did say he was a soldier.

Im pretty sure hes adhd, seems every time i log on he has at least one new thread if not three.

In a single post, I am going to attempt to answer all the questions you may have about me. Here goes:

This is a long post, but I promise to get everything in one post this time, instead of stretching it across 2 or 3 So if you read the whole thing, you'll have your answers lol;

dragonsdontfly, I feel as though you probably have ADHD haha.

Nope. but if they had a diagnosis for very bored, I'd be the poster child.

Haircut is too long in most photos I've shared here to indicate recently discharged soldier: But yeah you actually got that one right. US Army, 25B (IT Specialist). I actually miss it, which is part of why I'm so bored. But thanks to titanium holding my knee together and a twice fractured spine, I won't be able to reenlist.

PART 1- ISOLATION:

BUT... the REAL reason I'm always posting new threads: I'm a work-from-home dad.. You have NOOOOO idea what it's like to be stuck in the house 5 days a week, not even able to take the trash out unless it's between 1-4AM.. I mean seriously, it's like imprisonment.. 2 days a week I get outta this place, and thanks to the GF it's always a bare minimum of 80 degrees Farenheit: So it's more like the hotbox from The Longest yard..

--Edit: as much as i liked tech, I never got into it really until i got home.. Probably because at first I was stuck inside due to barely being able to walk, then it was because I made the dumb decision of moving from pittsburgh (major city) to some craphole in the middle of nowhere, then I moved and got hurt again (total stupidity that time):

THEN FINALLY TO PRESENT DAY: I move where I live now to help out the girlfriend, pay her bills, and take care of the kid.. But thing is: No visitors are actually allowed here (it's that uppity and snobbish), and they don't do lease updates: So I have to be a ghost 24/7 or she could get evicted.. Kinda messed up that they don't let you add people to the lease until the term's fully expired, but that means a full year of being unseen: Of which I have 6 months left to stay out of sight: The biggest reason I'm always stuck inside. (I've never actually admitted this, but it's not like it'll get me in trouble, I'm not posting my address or anything.)

So yes: Until I can get fresh air when there's daylight outside again: I will probably be temporarily ADHD. Got about 5 and a half months left actually til I can put myself on the lease, not 6. but saying 6 is shorter. Weekendsare the only time I can actually leave safely, because the staff isn't in: But I still have to watch out for the snobbish neighbors complaining about a visitor: And I know which ones to look out for; So I still have to be careful about WHEN I leave.. I posted a mirror on the bedroom window so I can see when they go inside, to make a quick getaway.

So all in all, I've been stuck inside for the majority of the last 3 years, and was either inside or on patrol for over a year before that on Active Duty, and before that was a homeless kid one day before i turned 6 years old working my butt off to survive and make something of my life. I went from not having a break for just over 12 years, to soldiering, to having entirely too much free time on my hands: I'm wearing a bit thin lol. So I tolerate it by communicating a lot, whether via forums or with family/friends, etc: Except I just have less options for recreation than most.

PART 2- MOTIVATIONS FOR WAITING IT OUT: (And a few other explanations, like the bar fights.)

As for bar fights and the GF, you tell me why (she has purple and blue highlights in her hair now btw) Btw she works with computers too, hence the shelves covered in power supplies, cabling and packaging tape: She just does different work: Rebuilds broken parts for resale, she has zero interest in them however beyond her paycheck:

And as for what I have to lose if I get caught entering or leaving the house before the lease term is up and I can be put on it (This was Emmy's 5th birthday party me and her mom threw):

______________

So i hope now you guys see why I'm always posting something lol.. Be glad I don't focus ALL my boredom into OCC, just some of it.

--And Deathmineral: This is also why I can say I'm good at games..I have a lot of free time and few options beyond cleaning and playing games; So I get more practice than most. Unfair advantage lol.
