Legit Reviews - AMD Athlon X2 7750 and 5050e Dual-Core Processor Review So it does perform a good bit better than the K8 CPUs around the same frequency. Good there. But they also measure the power consumption to be about 20W higher at idle and 40W higher under load. So as expected, it's a good bit more power hungry. Performance per watt is probably lower than K8 at this time. But I assume that will get better as they go and especially when they move on to 45nm.
