Need help ( HD 7950 Vapor X )

Guys I have a problem, I think it's GPU, but I'm not sure. I swapped Asus GTX 650 ti boost for a Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor X Boost, since then compter's running fine,  temperarure and stability is ok, but when I enter two games ( for now, FIFA 14, and NFS Most Wanted 2012 ), and start playing. computer shuts down, for no reason, and it's driving me crazy.  I tested gpu with furmark, running in full load for 30 minutes, temp 61c. and everything else is normal, drivers updated, system updated, games updated, have no clue what's going on. :wallbash:  I thought it was power, but card requires 500w psu, I have 600w, and nothing is overclocked. My system specs: ASUS M5A99x Evo, 2x4 GB DDR3 Patriot, AMD FX-6300 3.5 GHz, 600W psu, Sapphire HD7950 Vapor X.

I started suspecting it was due to a gpu, because I started windows experience index test, and the program gave me a 6.0 for a gpu ( it was interuppted ), and after I re runned it and restarted it was 7.9. It's new situation for me, so If someone have any suggestions, please, wrtite it.

Perhaps there are some ghosts of the nvidia drivers still around, make sure you delete every single NVIDIA file and folder and do a full flush of them from the registry with this script made by a fellow OCC'r.

Then I'd run driver fusion/driver sweeper and choose nvidia/physx and then reboot.

Hopefully that'll fix your issues.

(for searching/finding the nvidia folders, I'd recommend Everything!)

Well I did somethimg similar to this, I ranned the driver sweeper, and removed all the nvidia drivers left in system, that did not repair shutdown after running games, but then I removed amd display drivers, and installed previous version 14.9, not the omega one, and games now run fine, I tried it for a couple of minutes, and it's ok. I'll later check them longer, and report to you guys here. Thanks for the tip Iviythos, much appreciated.:wave:

What kind of PSU? It sounds like a power problem...

It's LC Power LC6600 V2.2. It has 600w, at least they say that. on 12v1 its 23A, on 12v2 its 25A, I thought that's enough for HD7950. The card itself runs without a glitch, other games (Borderlands PreSquel and COD Advanced Warfare) runs ok, but these two ( fifa2014 and nfsmw 2012) are causing problems. Dont know why...

In theory I would that think that'd be enough amps for the card (assuming it's using both rails), just don't know if that PSU is of a good brand. It may very well be but here in the states there are no LC Power PSUs. Could have just been the drivers though since you haven't had any issues since (and sorry, I meant to recommend also flushing the AMD drivers too while you were at it)

Is it like the high pitched sound CRT TV's and monitors make? That can signify hardware failure.
