The motherboard im buying only supports DDR3 though, and im trying to future proof as much as possible here with the amount of money i have

so will the motherboard really benefit me for gaming? I dnt want to have to change motherboards until end of next year when i finish skool.

Hey all i posted a wile back about wanting to upgrade to a E8400 and UD3R but ive been looking around the net and came across some reviews about the phenom II x2 550 black edition. Next week im going to be going past a computer store coz i need to build a computer for a friend and thought i would pick something up for myself. Is the phenom II x2 better than a E8400 @ stock speeds? im thinking of running it on a Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P Motherboard. Is that a top of the range motherboard? Im doing this upgrade to play games coming out later on like modern warfare 2, assassins creed 2, splinter cell conviction etc..i dnt want any bottlenecking wat so ever! Also the motherboard supports AM3 cpu's only, are AMD going to be making more AM3 cpu's giving me room to upgrade? And is 4GB of DDR3 in dual channel with low timings a good choice?? I kno im asking alot here but i pretty much kno nothing about AMD lols. Any help much appreciated i forgot to add, the motherboard supports crossfire 2.0 but only at x8 x8 will that give me a great deal of performance over a single 4850?

i dnt kno much about soundscards so bare with me lol. So u guys suggest i get some kind of sound card for my PC and connect my 360 to that??

Hey all, is it possible to connect the logitech X530 speakers to my PC aswell as 360 so i dnt need to always switch them over?

hey all, i recently thought of upgrading my G31 motherboard to a P45 motherboard and E8400. Although ive heard that i5 is right around the corner. Will i7 be better than i5 causing the prices of i7 to go up? When will i5 hit the shelves? If i7 will beat i5 anyday ill skip the P45 and save for a few months until i can afford an i7 but it needs to be before i5 comes out.
