Well I put together a build and I need some advice:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117372- processor

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500362- video card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128706- mobo

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233536- ram

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010- power

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840- hdd

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014378- monitor

Also, I have an old computer with this cooling fan...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233029

Could I use it with my new processor if i want to overclock it in the future?

Then this is the old case that I have to use:

Not sure if everything will fit in that case but there is my build. The case also missing the two screws for the side panel. I have no idea where I can get new ones. Don't ask how they went missing.

-edit- i also have an old dvd burner

That is a really nice looking start :)

The cpu cooler you linked is compatible with the processor, but don't expect wonders in terms of temps when overclocking to the extreme.

On stock, it is more than adequate.

Looks good to me expect for a few things.

1. I can't tell if the case will fill that video card as I can't find the case specs anywhere. Just eyeballing, it looks like motherboard take up most of the space so I'm betting any video card longer than the motherboard will fit well. Only one way to find out. Aside from that 80mm fan intake and 120mm out is horrible airflow. nothing is going to overheat, just don't expect any overclocking at all.

2. I am a huge fan of g.skill memory so why not get memory the same speed cheaper or some faster memory for the same price. either works.

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 $159

G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 $174

3. I don't like corsair power supplies much as every series/model is different. It will do the job but if you can get a better brand like Seasonic for the same price, it's better to go with them.

Stick with an i5-3570K if you can find it cheaper (and you usually can for at least $170 shipped in most cases), and a Z77/Z87 motherboard. The 4690K will offer you nothing over the 3570K aside from slightly better TIM between the die and IHS. If you're overclocking, you'll be limited to typically 4.3GHz (with slightly tougher overclocking), while your 3570K can match that at 4.5GHz easily, and delidded, could probably get to 4.8GHz pretty easily, as well.

The Z97 won't give you any additional benefits over Z77/Z87 except for the use of m.2 SSD's, but you're not even getting a typical 2.5" SSD in your build, anyway, which I would suggest with the cost savings you'd get going down a notch on your CPU/MB combo.

Thanks alot guys. I got the ripjaws, puts me just under $1300 because I was a bit over so thats good. But do you think I should wait until black friday? Will computer parts be cheaper that day?:woot:

Random things will be on sale black Friday and cUber monday. Last year newegg tried to pull a fast one and list things that are normally on sale for slightly higher. 2 years ago I got 32gb gskill kit for $100 and and a bunch of stuff.

I think you'll see powe supplies and cases on sale but not much else other than clearance stock like last year

Hey Comp, if you haven't pulled the trigger on the power supply, I'd recommend this instead;

EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2

$104.99 after MIR + free shipping ($114.99 if you don't want to mess with the rebate)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IKDETOC/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00IKDETOC&linkCode=as2&tag=amazon2k14-20&linkId=3TFXB5OQCFFL5LRM

And you made a good call switching the memory.  I'm in agreement with HornyBlue........  I like G.Skill memory.

Ivys list does save a few bucks but wit a lot of second rate companies in my opinion. You really have to research warranty and customer services. You can get a replacement after a few months of email hassle, but other brands like corsair and ggskill makes RMA painless. Hell i was able to RMA bad memory without a receipt and for a replacement in 1 week without 25 emails.

None of the companies he quoted are "second rate" IMO...
