SpikeSoprano Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) Could be a faulty card, even considering your psu is not great, it will power the 4850 which draws 30 watts more then the 7770. spitfire Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Cheers i'd read that also. I'll put the card into my sons system which has an i5 and Corsair 600w to test
Waco Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Double check the PCIe power plugs too.
spitfire Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Yes i double checked and it was a straightforward 6 pin like for like. Should the card be OK with the motherboard as it's a few years old now?
SpikeSoprano Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Did you try to update the mb bios to the latest, just read another forum where a 7850 on the same mb ran fine after a bios update.
spitfire Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Thanks will check that out. Is BIOS update easy for a relative novice?
DanTheGamer11 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 yeah For my motherboard you can just download the update and it installs+verifies in Windows, check out the website
spitfire Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I'vr tried the Fujitsu site for the bios update but cannot find one-anywhere else that i may be able to find it?
PcTestCardcouk Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Please make sure the 4/6pins for video power connector is also connected on the mobo as well. 400W power supply seems a little inadequate. stated 400w most of time is only 300+w only. For large gaming, the peak voltage comsumption may not enough. Hope this helps. Bill
