  1. So what would you suggest that my son get for his upgrade? He does a lot of Sonar, instrumental type of recording.
  2. what about stepping up to a XP3200 or 3200 400fsb? Would it make any sense to?
  3. What should I do? Keep my Barton 2800+ or sale it to my son and buy the 3200, or what would you guys suggest or do? He needs a new processor so he is going to purchase one anyways (wants to upgrade from a 1800XP). He can get a 2700 for under $100.00, but would take mine if I wanted to upgrade. Let me know guys. Thanks, Jim
  4. The best that I could do with the settings I have tried so far and still run stable is what's in my sig. I am curious as to how the CPU/FSB to DRAMM setting works in the bios Soft Menu. If anyone could elaborate on this I would appreciate it. Thanks all, Jim P.S. For anyone looking to purchase something new, this is one very sweet motherboard at a very righteous price.
  5. I have it all watercooled. Northbridge, CPU, Video Card and Harddrive. I am running all the necessary tests to make sure that I am not overtaxing any components. I am just curious what I can, and what you guys think I should be able to ring out of this 2800+ Barton.
  6. I can't get the FSB past 230 with a mutiplier of 11.5, or past 220 with a multiplier of 11.0. Core Voltage is at 1.8 and DRAMM at 2.9 with timings of 2-2-2-11. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jim
  7. Hey Guys, I have the new mobo and the Mushking up and running. This board is awesome. I like the differences on this board vs. A7N8X right down the new style jumpers. So now I am ready to bump up the timings a little and was open to suggestions from anyone who has this board as to how I should ease into it. I am curious as to how people are using the CPU FSB to DRAMM ratio settings and what sort of results you are coming up with. Jim
  8. Well I have my system setup again and ready to try bumping up the settings. Will you guys give a rough idea of how I should start it out? I not new to overclocking, just to this board and its options. Higher FSB or Multiplier to try? Maximum Voltages to try? What ratio CPU to DRAM? This is an awesome board. Thanks again Fan for the reccomendation on it. Jim
  9. Go with either Mushkin 3500 Level II or the OCZ 3500 Platinum Limited Edition in a 2 x 512 configuration. They both have the BH-5 chips, tight settings and kick some major hind end. Check out some of the other sites and remember, you get what you pay for.
  10. You can't go wrong with the Mushkin. Always expensive, but always worth it. I just installed a gig of the 3500 Level II last week and it is definitely worth the buckolas. I will let you know how it works with my NF7-S (so I can wring the most out of it) when it arrives on Tuesday.
  11. It's Rev 1.04 and yes, I am using the uber bios. A friend of mine owns a computer business and I had first dibs on the first release. What would you suggest? Just live with it or buy the Rev. 2.0 board? Thanks, Jim
  12. I haven't had the FSB up past 188/190 before now. I did lower the multiplier settings to 10 or lower to see how far I could push the FSB and the best I could manage out of it was 206 before I started having problems. I will play with it some more and maybe let it acclimate to these settings before I get to demanding. Just for an idea of what I have for settings: CPU @ 204MHz x 12.0x = 2448MHz 2-2-2-11 CPU 1.775V DDR 2.9V AGP 1.5V Chip +1.7V Open for suggestions
