  1. So i call my local (and most popular and respected) computer store; i ask them whether they have any serial or usb port lcd screens, or any VFDs. The guy was extremely confused for a couple of seconds, and proceeded to tell me that he has no idea what I'm talking about. I gave examples -- they didn't help. Am i going to have to buy these online? I'm looking for a simple usb port lcd screen. By the way, what is the main difference between VFD and LCD (someone said VFDs are lower quality, but i am not so sure). How about a fan control kit (e.g. DIY Rheobus kit). I saw a tutorial at http://www.bit-tech.net/article/40/ , and wondered where i could purchase such a thing at a retail store. Is this likely? How about radioshack? Thanks.
  2. Currently, i own this case. I want to paint it black (from the current silver). I am not sure however, what material the sides are made out of. Is it steel or aluminum. It says on the site, "Aluminum shielded front panel with acrylic cover"; so i assume the front is made out of aluminum, but i am not sure whether the sides are as well. What material does this look like? It seems sort of heavy, so i would guess steel. Also, what procedure would i have to perform to paint this black? Do you think black would look good? I also hope to cut a rectangular window on the side. There is currently bolts (rivets) on the current window (some flaming flower shape). How would i remove these rivets? Or could i simply cut the rectangle around the rectangular perimeter of the current hole? Should i cut prior to painting? I would think so. Also, on the front there are acrylic plates which could be removed. They currently look blue-ish; do you think it would look nice if i removed the plates, painted the back black, and placed the plates back on? Or does the blue-black contrast look good? Thank you.
  3. I am currently running a Intel P4 1.7 ghz (old), with a JET4 Heatsink/Fan, a case temperature of about 24-29 degrees, and a processor temperature of 27 (idle) and about 33 on average load. I have Arctic Silver 5 Thermal compound on the processor. What do you think would be my highest overclocking and voltage values -- while running the processor at a maximum of a normal temperature? Thank you.

    Geforce4 Ti4400

hmm. i looked over some other scores in some topics in this amazing forum and noticed that everyone has a MUCH higher 3dmark03 score than me. why?! i got 1330 with my geforce 4 ti4400, and it doesnt seem normal. is it because 3dmark03 uses directx9 and geforce 4ti4400 isnt meant to work with directx9? all help appreciated.
  6. OMG i only got 1330, i really got to get a new fan and oc my geforce 4 ti4400 a little more. but i heard that 1330 is normal for the geforce 4 ti4400, am i right?

    Gametiger

yeap, heard bout it. theres also www.csports.com or .net dont remember.
  8. theres no such software. at least im pretty sure there isnt. but i know there are scripts (obviously) which i write for some games. the thing is, all these scripts do is lower your fps which usually raises ping. so its basically lower quality = lower ping kinda thing. but just get a new connection, that would be best. i dont suggest cable for gaming, the best for gaming is broadband. i have broadband and get the lowest ping in all the servers i join. i get about 1300+ kb download, 300 upload i think.

  11. so ru trying to tell me and tarkins that the 1/4 second delay on startup is a sign of the video card running dangerously hot? because i havent seen any other signs in games and such due to my OCing.
  12. tarkings! same thing with me!! my screen flickers for the smallest millisecond and then everything is normal, is that fine. as to asnwer everyone elses question about what kind of video card, the thread's title is "GF ti4400" (geforce 4 ti4400), sry for the confusion.
  13. bosco, thanks for the help, but what does that mean excactly. TV-Out connector, so i can connect it to my tv?
  14. hm ok thanks. that is what i did. i went up 5 mhz and checked for any obvious signs of malfunctions, then went up another 5. then another 5. im at 15mhz increase for both core and for ram, and it seems perfect this way. maybe ill go 20 mhz but im not sure yet, im gonna try 15 mhz for a while and see how it is. thanks for the help. the question that none of you seem to know ,or maybe u cant see it . ill repeat just in case someone sees this and knows. My GEForce came with two sets of cables. one is for dual-monitors which i just hooked up, adn the other is a grey cable diving into two grey cables. does anyone know what these are for?
