  1. Same here, played the beta and was underwhelmed. It is BF4 with a twist, not sure how it's even being sold as a standalone game. I might pick it up when it goes on sale for $20 or so. Basically exactly how I feel. I also played the beta and was not impressed in the least. #1 thing I didn't like about it was the extremely underwhelming selection of firearms. That and the insanely over-availability of explosives.
  2. For what it's worth, 29 people from the BF4 division of my clan, www.clanaod.net, purchased Hardline, and 13 of them returned it within that 24 hour window they give ya, saying it was a horrible game. A handful of the others who didn't return it within that window haven't played it since the day they bought it, they're still on BF4 with the vast majority of us. #1 reason I won't buy it till Dice realizes they screwed the pooch and drops the price to $9.99

    HL3

Obviously your point is moot because it is very clear you have never played any Half Life game. Black Mesa is the research facility that most of the first game takes place in. It is referenced a few times in Half-Life 2 and Episode 1 & 2. Fine, the Combine Empire or w/e it was in hl2... Let me reiterate: Another run-and-gun as Gordon Freedman would just end up being mundane and repetitive. Don't be so testes.

That video tho... That's funny right there. Studio full of howler monkies. Personally I don't want a Half-Life 3. They pretty much capped that story in HL2. Another installment in the fight against Black Mesa would probably just end up being mundane and repetitive to anyone who played HL1 and 2.
  5. Yeah I suppose I'm not "true" Ultra, the post effects aren't cranked to their absolute maximum. The Mesh setting actually doesn't really have an effect on FPS (At least none that I noticed) but I did notice that, for whatever reason, it's easier to see enemies with it set to Medium (I may just be a crazy asshole), hence why it's set to medium. And I've never touched the Field of View settings... That's the default it installed with. I did run the Nvidia Optimization on it, but that only added the anti aliasing, it was initially off. I also noticed that for whatever reason (and I dont know for how long) my ASUS GPU Tweak tool has reverted to default settings... I did have it overclocked a bit. Maybe I'll crank that up again and re-shoot the video.
  6. Was a little low in dense smoke and dust/fog but I attribute that to high recording settings...
  7. Thats cuz your playing at 1680x1050! If you get the chance to play at higher resolutions using mare screen real estate then you will understand the allure. I use a 30 inch 2560x1600 monitor for gaming but can use a 32 inch 4K monitor. The GTX 660Ti will not cut it in either scenario! You don't need a high dollar card to game......You need a high dollar card to game at high resolutions with high settings. You dont need a corvette to commute to work but its so much more fun. Couldn't argue with that if I tried. I play at 1920x1080 on a 22" acer flat panel. Not crazy big, but it's as big as I desire. It's actually a recent upgrade for me, about a year ago I was playing 1600x900 on a 17"
  8. No, I don't, because according to my little FPS indicator in the top-right corner of my screen I've never gone below 60 FPS in BF4, and all my settings are on ultra (or high if ultra is N/A). Only point I was trying to make initially is that you don't need a $1,000 card to play games with decent FPS. More to the point, I personally wouldn't spend my money for that functionality. If I had a 144MhZ monitor and played at crazy resolutions then yeah it's worth it... but I'm completely happy with my 1920x1080 60Mhz monitor and 60+ fps. If ya honestly don't believe what I'm tellin' ya, I'll gladly make a video with shadowplay showing my settings and FPS counter...
  9. Yeah I recently had this discussion with a buncha people lol. I only really play Battlefield 4 at the moment, but i was playing Archeage Online, DayZ, Rust, H1Z1, Guild Wars 2, and I played some other current titles... I never go below 60 fps on pretty much anything. I have BF4 maxed on all ultra/High settings and I never go below 60.
  10. I spent $100 on a used GTX660Ti last year and I haven't met a game I can't run on high/ultra... A grand for a gfx card? Feck dat. For $999 I can build two more gaming rigs exactly like mine. But I'm a frugal bastard, so meh. lol
  11. $8 for 20 5.56?! Holy crap man... I don't shoot 5.56 myself but my buddy uses it and he pays $14 for a box of 20 whenever we go to the range together!! I haven't bought ammo in over 6 months, I'm still reloading the same 250 casings (200 7.62x39, 50 7.62x54r) for my SKS and MN-M59 respectively. Just did the third reload a few weeks ago, casings are still in good shape but I typically don't go beyond four firings including the initial so I'll probly be buying some soon... Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to another 7.62x39 hunt... not. -_- Why must I love old guns... Oh yeah, cuz they're really cheap. WOW $14 a box, talk about getting raped at the range. I havent been shooting my AR for very long but one thing i want to learn this year is how to do reloads. Cheap old guns are great, been trying to find 2 Mosin Nagant rifles since you can pick them up for about $150 but i havent been able to find any around in my area. I want to keep one stock and then mod the second one. So my next move is looking for a .308 if anyone has any recomendation on one, been looking at the remington 700. Yeah, I reccomend the MN-M59 if you want a Mosin. It's a sexy little carbine version of the "long" mosin, (Dragoon I think it's called). About 2/3 the length, roughly the same as an AR-15. I'm sure someone will correct me, but I believe the 7.62x54r (M59) round is interchangeable with .308 (or .30-06), but I may be thinking of another caliber... It's been so long since I've even looked at a round outside of what I use. The M59 is such a common variant of the Mosin you can get them for as little as $100 (Got mine for $120 out of a lot my local store got in), and if you'd rather have a semi-automatic HPR I love my Yugo SKS. 7.62x39, 10 round magazine, very reliable, very managable recoil. Easy double-taps at 25 yards, dead-on accurate to about 150 at least with me on the trigger, someone better could probly hit a dinner plate at 300. Got that for $280 from a friend.

  13. 19 hours? I suppose if sat completely still for the entire 19 hours... But shiet, that's amateur... When WoW first came out, my first 36 hours in the game were the first 36 hours after it came out! Seriously... I played it for 36 hours straight... Went thru a whole lotta weed, milk and chips ahoy.
  14. New York City at least. I have a friend who lives in upstate New York, he doesn't have any complaints about the gun laws. New York City, however... Birthplace of the absolutely dumbest mayor I've ever been unfortunate enough to hear speak. He's not even anti-gun, he's just... Well, lets just say if he was 9 years old, he'd be in the "special" class. But New Jersey is notorious for trying to lock people away in jail just for owning a firearm. Back in the day I was lead mechanic at an auto shop in Woodbury, NJ. Me, the manager and a co-worker used to bring our rifle shells in and run em thru a cleaner we kept in the back. The manager had an ammo press, so between jobs we would sit there and load our .308 and 7.62. There was a door in the back that we normally kept open because it got hot back there, and one day someone allegedly walked by, saw one of us making ammo, for some reason they actually called the police and, quote, "expressed concern". A cop came in and questioned us about what was "going on in the back". We freely told him we were making our ammo, and it just so happened that none of us had our fucking firearm ID cards on us, so this flippin cop actually made a huge stink about it, called backup, made a whole big fucking scene just for a Sergeant to show up, run our names, pull up our license information and call the stupid "investigation" off. Meanwhile, we're sitting in front of a tool box with 10 cops in the building like we were making C4. The whole time all I could say was, "Are you fuckin' kidding me right now"? If it wasn't for the sergeant actually having some common sense, the dumbass patrol cop that came in first was actually suggesting arresting the three of us and confiscating our equipment!
  15. Haha thanks bud, here is some more with a few new changes Disclaimer: Yes that is a pinned and permanently blocked 10/30 magazine (limited to 10 rounds). Awh MAN you live in one of *those* states?! Gah, I feel the pain... I live in Jersey. Just to GET the HK MR762A1 I want I have to have it "modified" to be New Jersey compliant. #1, stock has to be permanently non-adjustable. #2, any bayonette mount has to be removed. #3, cannot have a muzzle break. Buncha horse-shit! I hate this state... $1400 gun becomes a $1800 gun just because it has to be raped and molested to be legal to buy in NJ. Makes me wanna club a seal... Or a fat governor -_- I need to move to PA. My buddy lives in Lancaster county, one of his prized possessions is a fully automatic m249 clone. I shot it once. Ten pumpkins never kerploded so fast, and I don't think I'd ever spent $50 so fast...
