imm0rt41 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Great clocks on this card! It's running up with my 6970 which is running the same core clock. My memory is up to 1510 though
Puck Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Curious on how it would do with more volts! Push it to 1.3 and OC some more .
krazypoloc Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Nice review, although I don't think I will ever buy a card again that vents air back into the case....
RealNeil Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I have the early version of the XFX HD6870 Black edition card with just one fan. I'm using it in a little ASRock N68-S UCC board with a dual core Calisto CPU at 3.0GHz. The system has 4GB of DDR2-800 RAM in it and a 750GB platter drive. It works well enough without any OC, but now I guess I'll have to bump it up a bit and try it that way. Thanks for the review. gjones88 Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 (edited) I'm looking at either the XFX 6870 dual-fan and the XFX 6870 Black Edition dual-fan video cards. There is a big enough difference in price right now to consider the question. Can I overclock the 6870 dual-fan around the same numbers as the 6870 Black dual-fan ? Does the Black Edition have something special that enables it to overclock a little bit higher ?
