sleepsus Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 (edited) Thanks for the article very informative read! I have this same video card and an EMAXX AMD780G mother board. Strange thing about this card is that I can't turn on the Hybrid Crossfire when using the latest and greatest Catalyst drivers from ATI (8.6). It only works when I use the catalyst driver that came with the card ? ... noticed from the article screen shots of the CCC window, the first screenshots didn't show the Crossfire option to be available, then suddenly the Crossfire option appears in the last screenshot ... Also this card doesn't have a HDMI out port, but the specs claim it supports HDMI audio ... My question is where does the HDMI auidio come out of? I'm not sure if DVI carries audio and just using a DVI-to-HDMI passive adapter will work? Help Thanks, Mark Edited June 30, 2008 by sleepsus

Guest ajmatson Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Unfortunately I have not had the time to try that setup with the 8.6 drivers so it sound like there might be a problem with 8.6 and the Hybrid CrossfireX setup. Did you recheck the options in the BIOS? Also for the HDMI you must use the adapter that comes with it. This will allow you to have a maximum resolution of 1920x1080 and the audio uses an integrated HD audio controller which enables a cable-less audio solution. Hope that helps. sleepsus Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Hi AJ, Yes, I did play around with the bios settings for a couple of (frustrating) hours as at first I thought it maybe an issue with the bios setting. But nothing seemed to work ... The CCC supplied from the card however worked right away. I'm inclined to think its the driver, but i dont know... When you say "cable-less audio solution", I also read that in the card specs but didn't really know what it meant? Does that mean the audio would just output from the on board HD audio? Sorry, this HTPC build is new to me ... :| Thanks, Mark
