Hi!

My name's Thomas, since my nickname is Wallaby, just call me Wallaby :)

I'm almost 16, and I'm from somewhere near Dijon, in France.

Well now that I have introducced myself very briefly, I'm going to introducce something I love using.... my gaming computer (hmm... think it''s what I'm supposed to do here)

Well, first, please know that I've always been interested in electronical topics, and in computing.

First I'm going to describe my current PC setup.

-Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83 ghz OC @ 4.13 ghz

-Mobo: DFI LanParty DK P45 T2RS Plus (guys I'm a DFI fanboy  unfortunately, they decided to stop building new gaming mobos, to focus on professional mobos only... )

-RAM: G.Skill Extreme PK PC2-8500 4 GB (2*2 GB Dual-Channel)

-Hard Drives: Western Digital Caviar Blue 640 GB (OS & Data) + Western Digital Caviar Black 750 GB ( Games)

-Graphics Cards: SLI MSI GTX460 Hawk 1 GB GDDR5 OC @ 865 mhz (GPU)/2075 mhz (Memory)

-Watercooling system: Corsair H70 + 2x Antec TriCool 120 mm working in push-pull

-Power Supply: Antec "High Current Pro" HCP850 watts (80+ Gold)

-Case: Cooler Master HAF922

-O.S: Windows 7 Ultimate

-Screen: Acer X223W 22" wide

And that's it! :) What ? It's not enough ? I don't care, I haven't got enough money to buy new items for the moment :whistling:

I'm playing a lot of different games, especially FPS such as Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2, Battlefield 3 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 (I also played Battlefield 2), the Call of Duty series, Call of Juarez, Call of JUarez Bound in Blood, Call of Juarez The Cartel, Metro 2033, Flight Simulator X... and so on.

Well, now I'm going to show some pictures of my lovely gaming rig

Please notice that these pictures are also available on this french-speaking forum, in my topic, there: http://www.overclocking-pc.fr/forums/showthread.php?t=22874

My Acer mouse, Imma buy a new one soon, this one still works well, I've been using it for 3 years, however, the left button is starting malfunctionning... I have to move on ;) I think Imma buy a Logitech G300 or G500...

My Acer keyboard, I've been using it for more than 3 years, and it still works very well, I'll change it, only though someday it doesn't work anymore.

Finally, I paid more than €1350 (1750 USD) for my computer. I didn't buy all these components in one time, I bought them weeks after weeks, and I improved my computer's efficiency months after months.

Okay, and finally, this is my current 3D Mark 11 score (Click on the link below)

Nice OC on your Q9550, I miss my old Q9450. I almost got as high as you :P, that's a damn potent setup though, it may be "dated" but definitely wouldn't get choked up by anything at your resolution.

Looks great!

first guys, thank you all, for your comments :)

@IVIYTHOS: regarding my processor, I actually don't feel the need to change it... the Q9550, when it is OC @ 4.13 ghz can run all the games (BF3 included) with maximum settings :) and the SLI GTX460 OC has roughly the same in-game performances than a GTX580. aditionnaly I'm playing on a 22" screen with a max resolution of 1680x1050 :)

But, yeah, anyway Imma change it, I'm planning on buying it in may or june 2012 (I'll be in the states in april, so... :teehee: ), I'm going to wait for Ivy-Bridge to change my quad, I'll buy an I5 3570K, if this one has a significant increase in performances, compared to the I5 2500K. :)

and I'll buy a new motherboard, the ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 Pro looks awesome :) maybe I should wait for the new motherboards based on the new Z77 chipset, I don't know for the moment.. and of course I'll buy some RAM, 8 gb will be enough..

as I said, I don't have enough money to buy new components whenever I want so... since I'm only 15 for the moment, and I don't work, it's understandable.

I'm also planning on buying a new mouse, a Logitech G300 or G500, or it'd be amazing if I found a Logitech Performance MX, which would be quite affordable :)

regarding my case, as you said, Black64, I should paint the inside black. thanks for giving me that idea :) I already thought that I could paint it, but I didn't find the time to do it for the moment, I'll do it for sure when I have got enough time :)

bye

EDIT; some pictures in my first post have been updated

Wow, I didn't realize until now that they stopped making LanParty boards!

They were literally the best overclocking boards for the longest time, I wonder why they did that.

Really is a shame, time to start collecting some of their old hardware, I know my mom's PC is running on a P35 BloodIron.

I have the G500 and its awesome, the MX518 is great too. Also just out of interest what sort of temps do you get on your 460s?
