Right now I have a hd 6870, and I was wondering what video card you guys would recommend for my new monitor (catleap) which is 2560x1440. I was thinking maybe a gtx 670, then sli whenever i need it, but would i need 4gb's for the future or not? it'll be used for heavy gaming.

BTW: catleap monitor is AMAZING. I came from a 1600x900 display and this is just so much better. :D

I have no problems gaming with dual 6870s on my 27" 2560x1440 display, and you can probably pick a second one up for ~120 bucks. Keep in mind at that resolution AA is almost not needed - I used to use at least 8xAA on my 1920x1200 monitor, but on this one I cannot tell a difference between 2x and 4x so just run 2x.

You are correct, my 27" 2560x1440 monitor was one of my favorite computer purchases ever. I could never go back to a standard size/resolution monitor!
