  1. Tried these settings and got a blue screen after 2-3 minutes of Primem95. http://i.imgur.com/Vg43H.jpg[/img Kept all settings the same but lowered BCLK to 160, this netted me 3.36 ghz and 1600mhz RAM with 9/9/9/24 timings, I shut down Prime95 after 2 hours p. idle temp was 42, load was 69 tops Stil wanna shoot for slightly faster CPU and RAM than that tho, and/or tighter timings too
  2. But is CPU-Z correct? 970 MHz RAM? BIOS says 1298 MHz, and I wanna get it to at least the RAM's rated 1600 MHz speed, or slightly over locked to 1866 MHz
  3. Ok Prime95 has gone on for over an hour, still stable. Did I enter everything correctly? Those settings netted me this: I have not touched the RAM settings and timings do I change that? I want the RAM faster! Looking for around 1866-2000 MHz. What do I change? Again this is only my2nd time overclocking so the more detail I get on what to change the better.
  4. Thanks, hopefully my kids give me time tonight lol
  5. If that was hard to read I apologize. It was all posted from my phone
  6. I'm new to overclocking. I have an i7 930, Asus PX58D-E and 24 GB of that low voltage Samsung DDR3 1600. I already tried copying the settings from the huge Asus PX58 Motherboard thread, but I got a blue screen shortly. Are there any extra changes/precautions I need to make because of the low volt RAM besides setting the Voltage to between 1.35-1.45? I'm shooting for a moddest OC, around 3.6 Ghz for CPU and around 1866 MHz for the RAM. I currently have a really simple OC going by only changing the multiplier to i think 20 and the BCLK to I think 180. This got me the desired CPU speed but the RAM only shows its running at 1138 MHz in CPU-z instead of the 1500+ MHz I thought I set it to in the BIOS. Anyway I'm sure simply changing the multiplier and bCLK is not how I should OC, so if I can get some help that would be greatly appreciated. Also I read something about XMP settings to get my desired RAM speeds? Any insight into that. Once I get into BIOS I'm clueless without step by step instructions on what to do Here are pics I took of the current disappointing RAM speeds, sorry I didn't screen cap instead, I was running out the door when I took the pics

  9. catless downpipes adds like 30 horsepower, and it's not like the whole exhaust is catless. The car comes with 4 cats, so 2 are still in place (for now muhahhahaha)

  12. Just get a i7 930 for $199 at Microcenter All i7 930's are D0
  13. Are you saying the 930 doesn't have D0 stepping? Because it does have D0 stepping.
  14. Well I bit the bullet and went with the newly released Mushkin Ridgeline PC-12800 (6-8-6-24) On to the motherboard! Suggestions? USB3.0 and SATA6 would be nice. Any suggestions? Probably going to wait for some reviews of the AsRock x58 Extreme3 Is there anything on the horizon or newly released (but not many reviews) from Asus, MSI, or Gigabyte that I should be looking at as well? Here is the AsRock Extreme3 http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=X58%20Extreme3
  15. i7 930 is $199 at Microcenter. Picked mine up last night. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_...duct_id=0331303 The i7 920 is $179 at Microcenter too.
