jdm_freek Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 so i have posted that i built an Ebike and i am happy thus far. well i wouldn't be a member of this forum if i was the kinda person who stays happy with his tech for long . My to total investment is around $410 this includes new bike , 48v 1000w diy kit , 4 sla 12v 9ah batteries. but now i realize there is so much room for improvement. i have tried finding a lighter more powerful battery pack but there are so many sites and i ve never heard of any of them plus i know nothing about lipo4 and i am affraid of being ripped off. it needs to be 48v and at least 12ah
paulktreg Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Good quality lead acid batteries (Yuasa for example) are cheap and reliable so why not stick with them? I found this article which is a good read. Looks like Li-Pol may be the way to go? If you lived in the UK I could recommend a couple of good quality battery suppliers but not much help in the US I'm afraid. Fireonice Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) Ping batteries very trusted source http://www.pingbattery.com/ Endlessphere forums http://endless-sphere.com/forums/ I'd stay away from lipo like the plauge! Go to endlesssphere and research. Lipo needs lots of research unless you want to catch on fire. Lots of balancing and other crap to deal with. Ping will be good for lower amps. But if you need the amps and have a 2000watt+ http://em3ev.com/store/index.php?route=product/category&path=35 is the way to go!
