IVIYTH0S Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 that 8pin connector no doubt has a hand in the overclocking ability (and that sexy non reference cooler)
ccokeman Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 It just kept scaling upward . I figured around 740 on the core maybe but it just rocks.
PeterStoba Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Palit are the best, my 4850 has a non reference cooler, which is very quiet and cool and overclocks like a charm, has a short pcb too, cheapest 4850 available aswell
Verran Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Very nice review Frank! Looks like this card is a front runner in terms of 4850's. It's cool to see such a stand-out product. I would be curious to see how this overclocks using the 6-to-8pin power adapter. I wonder how much of that extra OC-ability comes from the increased power flow. I know there's probably plenty of people like myself out there who don't have an 8pin PCIe option on their PSUs yet and I'd be curious to see how that would limit the OCing (if at all). ccokeman Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 It should perform identically. The last two pins just jump from a hot and ground on the existing 6pin connector. If I get a chance I will try it out for you.
Error 404 Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 (edited) Oh man...That looks amazing! Wish my MSI card could do that...I wonder if it has it's base voltage increased. ~Error Edit: Wow. It really kicks tail in the framerates...beating all compared cards when OCed! Edited October 19, 2008 by Error
